Gold of Ghana

Ghanaian IguanaAkwaaba! Welcome to one of the friendliest, warmest and safest countries in West-Africa. A country formerly known as the Gold Coast, for sad reasons. For many centuries Europeans conquered the land for its gold and later on, for slaves. They enriched their powers by means of a lively slave trade to the Americas. But the sympathetic people in Ghana have no hard feelings and welcome travellers to discover what is their gold in present times: tropical beaches, national parks and the cultural heritage from ancient kingdoms. Even the slave forts the Europeans have built, are well kept now and open to visitors. Take a look here at its many unsung attractions!
