Oslo MonumentCold, expensive and blond cold-blooded people: this comes to your mind when you think of the countries in northern Europe. For one part this is true: Norway has the most northern city in the world, the winters are mostly dark and a glass of wine can easily cost you 10 euro. The Scandinavians speak English perfectly but are rarely in a wild and extravert mood, unless they are drunk. For flirting you should head to the Mediterranean and beyond. But for the other part, Scandinavia is safe, clean and beautiful. Scarcely populated it's a perfect place to enjoy its wilderness and its capital cities are real pleasures for enjoying architecture, design and culture. Copenhagen, Stockholm and Oslo are great places to visit museums, to wander around along monuments and historic harbours and to sip a cappuccino in a hip minimalistic café full of handsome blondes. And when it's midnight and you've spent a fortune on a couple of beers, you may even run into a friendly Viking who takes you on a tour through the city. Then the Scandinavians seem to have more warm blood inside than you had figured out from the outside. In 2002 and 2003 I visited Copenhagen, Oslo and Stockholm. For a first impression from the outside, visit the Scändinævian Gållery. For an inside experience, visit the cities yourself.
